NP, but I beg your indulgence

Today I found out that I got the grant that I applied for(from my local
Arts Council) to go to NYC for a few days to study with some of my favorite
jazz pianists. They didn't give me the full amount that I asked for, but
enough to get me started and help me in my eternal quest to justify my
existence...

I'm up for another grant (from the state arts commission) to do some
publicity for my solo piano CD and improve my web presence, etc., and I've
also applied to them for a fellowship ($5000).

I have some funny stories (or sad, or both, I guess) about living here. I'm
tempted to just sit down and write it all down, but I do have children to
feed. Think "Jazzoids from Space" and "Taiji Camp Gone Bad".

Speaking of Taiji, I will start a taiji program at the health club, the
Life Center, connected to the local hospital system, in the next few months.
