pretty dense but the mad musings of Queen Charlotte are very rich
with a very subtle humor--Del Paso is obsessed with colors--clothing,
animals, buildings, rivers, plants and the odd anecdote like the
famous diplomat Metternich's wife smoked Havana cigars
Mexico is described as both a paradise of mountains and flora and a
hell of rebellions and strange insects
lots of stuff to chew on and a book that will require multiple readings
