Well, seems the space and time dimensions are counterparts on Battle-fields....
The earthly battles in space---territorial, etc---are matched by time battles ( in history)?
Overarching world-views? Medieval vs. Renaissnace? sacred sense vs. rationalist enlightenment? west vs. East? And, of course all of the above...
