I hate to see these five people lose their jobs
And I do think this endeavor is worthy to be continued.
But, these days, I bet it can be done on/by or like wikipedia for
very little.
I the Press would throw up what new they've gathered, ---a dictionary of
American regional English wiki---suggest
any researchers check out the already in-print version and
language lovers---there are millions---will respond. I think, perhaps
delusionally.
it would be a nice wiki for someone like Tim Ware to throw up....the crowdfunded
amount they did get pledged would help---although his time is worth much more
than that amount, so it would have to be another public service.
