"Entropy". Influence on?

I have reread Entropy. Not a probable influence re this.

Except one might think this: Musil characterizes his character's
world--Vienna, (as Europe?)-- as one in equilibrium and naturally that way
whereas in Entropy equilibrium is entropic....

Perhaps Musil sees Olde Europe this way too as I read more?

Another quite interesting to me aspect of Musil's ideation in the
subsequent pages--re Vienna
is that he seems to see the countervailing tendencies as necessary and
good for the society. Resentments, the repressed, the oppositional,
the counterforce---my characterization---
all give the Good a framework, a structure that it would not have otherwise.
