Things They didn't explain to me on CNN

I believe the target was France because they're a chief military ally with
the U.S. now. The Bataclan for reasons of antisemitic politics, probably
to muddy the waters in re: motivation. (What's muddier than Zionism?) The
cultural implications-- a theatre, a rock show, etc --are always a muddying
factor: lends to all kinds of speculation, particularly among the general
pop. That's part of the psychological warfare. "Was the band
significant? Is it a clue what their next target might be?" Etc. etc. I
remember in Richmond, VA during the season of the Beltway Sniper no-one
wanted to venture out-of-doors... despite the fact that Richmond only had
one gas station w/in the city limits! Populations aren't rational,
particularly not populations under duress.
Another successful op in Paris was probably the primary point. All other
details were logistical considerations. Attacking a performance,
particularly a packed concert, is more certain to produce fatalities than a
marathon. I feel fucking filthy thinking about the lives lost in those
terms.
Fact is France has been engaged in campaigns throughout Africa for the last
few years. They're our primary partner now the Great Britain has pulled
back. That seems like the main motive. The French were only just
beginning to recover from Charlie Hebdo, so it follows that this strike was
to keep the nation off-balance, perhaps to provoke upper echelons into
acting rashly elsewhere. Nothing is certain...
