Samarai produced this shortly before he died. He played cuts from it for me
as he was working on it. We were in Savannah, playing in a band together.
His hometown and my birthplace. Well worth checking out...

My younger son is indirectly named after him, Samuel. My ex wouldn't go for
Samarai. Funny, now that's his nickname with his friends.
Here's a clip of Sun Ra with Samarai on drums. He's the one with the drum
solo at about 6:00. He's listed on some of Sunny's records as Eric Walker,
his birth name.
