To be fair, this aspect is probably the least attractive for your average
book reviewer.  To engage with the politics of BE is to engage with the
politics prior to the event, where most folks prefer to flush the months
leading up to that fatal Sept.  We were revising & updating our enemies
list from the moment of the inauguration, purposefully chucking spanners,
tennis shoes, even whole hams into the woiks of a previously relatively
stable, albeit extremely imperfect, foreign policy,
Larry-Moe-&-a-stroke-addled-Curly style.

Bring those hijinx up and you're baiting a nation of distemperate poodles
who fancy themselves pitbulls.  Not worth the time of any reviewer, really,
particularly not those who don't care much for P anyhoo.​
