(I heard two--three interviews with writers of fiction last week on the
radio, all being driven by their
interlocutor's inability to talk about the work other than by pressing for
autobiographical---not thematic, not societal, not historical---details)
Ever since I learned of Pynchon and Siegal's wife and the topless scene in
the moving car, I
have always read Jessica's attitude as we get it as ....like that.
So there.
