I post this from Pynchon scholar Martin Eve, not because of what he has
found out about David Mitchell's CLOUD ATLAS, but of how it shows, once
again, the genius of Pynchon's use
of a corrupted text as symbol within all the metaphoric symbols and scenes
of The Crying of Lot 49.
