Usenet before Waste and Archives on Waste before January 1992

I didn't even know there was a Usenet version of the list before the
listserv, but I'd be interested in hearing all about this stuff too.
If I recall, the list was restarted (I don't know the technical term)
in 1992 and it was essentially a clean reboot, so nothing saved. But I
wasn't around then so can't be sure.
