Yeah. I think the speed was to just hint at full linguistic depth without
real focusing on lines; verbal suggestiveness.
 Like quick hint action scene cuts.
Then the books come at a right pace...

But I think the speed may signal 'hard to read' to new readers and feed the
Reasons to Avoid Reading Pynchon feeling.
