The topic of this dissertation is the Freudian theory of consciousness
and affect: consciousness is a sense organ for perception of mental
processes and affect is the primary sensory modality of the internal
surface of consciousness. At the same time, this dissertation
represents an attempt to examine the interdependence of two problems
in the Freudian thought: the mind-body relation and the relation of
consciousness to mental life.
