I'm definitely with Jochen here -- liked TNOTR well enough back then, 
couldn't finish FP, believe that one only needs to compare random 
paragraphs from IV or the great BE with random paragraphs from any of 
Eco's novels to realize that P even in his so-called minor works plays 
in an altogether different league.

My favourite book by Eco has to be "The Open Work."
