Jochen speaks my experience too. Everyone who does like him speaks of
Foucault's Pendulum as best I will say.
I did not give it much of a chance.
He has seemed to me to be one of the most known and read writers who do
just what TRP, lit critic, sez is absolutely
wrong in fiction: starts with an idea, not life, not perception, not
language, etc.
