The Silent Generation

Hey P-listers,

Never heard of it? I supose it is not the most mentioned 'generation';
after all, with the 'Lost' and the 'Beat' generations (don't get me started
on those cohorts that we hear so much about - so-called X-ers and
Millenials) taking up most of literary talk, a person doesn't get around to
the quieter set. Then again, they're not that quiet.

  The Silent generation is that group born between the mid-1920's and the
early 1940's. Our author belongs to that group as does Don Dellilo and many
more.

   But it just dawned on me that there are some others from that generation
who have also been quiet and noisy at the same time: the Koch brothers are
all just about Pynchon's age.

Just goes to show you that evey generation has its Bad Vibes.

ciao
