Miller cover. Solicited by Pynchon, we believe. Because Miller?
Only quote on back: 'The most profound and accomplished American novel
since the end of WW2."
Why is this quote the only one chosen? Not NYTimes front-page rave?
I suggest because of the word "profound".
Pynchon is an historical thinker worth thinking about in GR.
Pynchon is a sociologist worth reading.
Pynchon is a 'philosopher of science' worth reflecting with.
"Accomplished" is what lots of good but lesser novels are.
GR shows a reader why depth and breadth and ideas matter
--when accomplished with lyrical, charged writing.
