Jodorowsky/Xingjian

When I brought up the project I was undertaking (watching ten directors' whole bodies of work) a lot of you mentioned Jodorowsky. Partly on the strength of that consensus, I just watched The Holy Mountain. So thanks very much.  

For obvious reasons, it reminded me of Soul Mountain, by Gao Xingjian. Have you guys read that? Or anything else of his? It was an early favorite in the category of Great and enormous/expansive books after I read it freshman year of college. But haven't read since. -
