Speculative connection of the morning:

Do you think that when Pynchon read Faulkner
say he worked his postage stamp bit of reality,
that (part of) the seed for that Crying metaphor
started germinating? HIS postage stamp was

I don't mean Crying here at all..."a short story marketed as a novel"
written
cause he needed the dough....BUT THE OTHERS! )

"I discovered that my own little postage stamp of native soil was worth
writing about and that I would never live long enough to exhaust it."
