This"Baltic run" use by TRP, something not via the East India company,
evidently, and
full of pirates is another wonderful outsider, outlaw, akin to a Low-Lands
route bit .......

but, having just learned of it, I am reminded of the Baltic Dry Index, a
measure of
ships transporting stuff over that route---I guess?---which has in recent
decades
OFTEN been a predictor of the strength of the world economy.....(one must
know when it isn't and why, of course)
