I have recently learned from a little book on Jack Kerouac that in a couple
of his books, he blames
the white 'race', whites in direct words. Whites were to blame, etc., words
like that.Did not know so straightforward, .....indicating injustices he
saw and put into his fiction. Not going to hunt for the quotes, just fyi.
More than a couple times, it seems.
The book also presents a critical reading of On The Road noting that it is
carefully organized into four parts. That struck me since a number of
Pynchon's are too, but not much to make of that, I'm sure. It seems it was
that important ex-Pittsburgher Malcolm Cowley who got Keroauc to shape
On the Road, getting him to cut more back-and-forth [yo-yo-like, I've
thought, since rereading Pynchon and On The Road] road trips from his
manuscript.
