Pynchon-esque is the new Kafka-esque.

Naw.  But why even try to match them?  Kafka is surreal. Pynchon is
satiric.  Pynchon can be alt-real, but not for a whole story.  Both are
comedic, but Pynchon is slapstick, and Kafka is a strange laugh of
uncertainty.
