So many interesting angles on this.
Why only 15 copies at $350 a pop?
The economic aura generated by false scarcity, I assume, but maybe
there really is that much labour going into the production of each
copy.
Or the printer is playing up.
These works are available for free elsewhere on the internet. Is it
absolutely wrong that someone is selling them? How is buying one of
these different from pirating via torrents etc?
Because money goes to Mssr Boese?
Torrent sites direct your data to advertisers and thus someone gets
paid for your download.
Mr Pynchon is probably loaded.
15 artworks bootlegging his early stuff won't send him to skid row.
His work is full of pirates, bootleggers, scam artists and ne'er-do-wells.
But Pynchon isn't Abbie Hoffman.
And $350?
I'll proof your copy for half that.
