I disagree. I think the genocide of the native population is probably the
premiere bit of tendrils-into-the-future foundational horror (alongside
slavery). Probably the third idea, for me, would be... hmmm... the ability
to continually engage in a willful, spiteful ignorance of facts and/or
truth.
