the publisher i was with in the nineties had to pulp a first printing of a
novel
which had four Joni Mitchell lines as an epigraph and permission was denied
late.....(or rather, the book should not have gone to press before that
rights detail
was locked down).....had not been shipped to stores yet, so there was
that.....no
recall....or suit.
