Very GR-ish spook story

I suspect the characterization of Krug as a "superstar" is part of the
general post-WWII thriller mythology: The Boys From Brazil, The Odessa
File, the History Channel's "How Hitler Almost Nuked NYC," Iron Sky and so
forth. Apparently the real final days of WWII weren't dramatic enough. They
require spicing-up with evil geniuses and almost-war-winning technologies
fleeing in all directions, popping up over decades to come with schemes to
revive the Reich.
While I have no reason to doubt that Krug's company was selling naughty
bits to the Egyptians, (1) I know the history of Peenemunde pretty well,
and he's all but invisible there... and (2) the Western allies and the USSR
between them did a rather thorough job of identifying and recycling the
important technical contributors. It's not that uncommon for lawyers (or
accountants, or marketers) to be CEOs of engineering and technology
companies.
