It was all leaked by at least two sources and not via any Drudge or Breitbart stories. From the NYPOST(!)--probably a Repub insider leak---thru the major newspapers and some TV. One way the truths of 'off the record' meetings gets out.
Re the campaign, remember that it was an NBC employee of attendee Phil Griffin who got the ACCESS HOLLYWOOD tape to Fahrenthold at WA PO.
There were some others at other media who did Pulitzer-competitive and award worthy work, including NBC's MSNBC imho.
