In awarding the prize to Bob Dylan, the Swedish Academy is no longer ignoring America as the media has gone on about forever AND they are giving a big Fuck You! to American writers and their whining champions AND they have given the award to someone who absolutely deserves it and *has* impacted the world (ish is correct: Pynchon, DeLillo, Roth, etc. have not [enough]) AND they show they are not rigid, but open in defining "literature" (you can disagree with their definition, but you will have a hard time defending one that *is* rigid and delineated) AND they can continue to show the ridiculousness of Ladbrokes, etc. book-watching for determining the winner―that they are their own, independent decision-making body AND they can move forward without having to debate American names again for the next twenty years (by which time all the usual suspects will be off the table) AND they are giving a big Fuck You! to American writers AND they have given the award to someone who absolutely deserves it . . .
