Bob Dylan writes amazing songs, but they are not literature.

The Nobel for Lit has never been simply a prize for the Best author or
for an author who wrote works of profound beauty. Dylan is no Pynchon
or Dylan Thomas, but I can live with Dylan's Nobel. His contribution,
especially when young, was great and magical.
