That's because they're not in plain text, isn't it? Anything not sent
in plain text is gibberish in the digest version of the list.
That or the increasingly fractious nature of the internet means that
now email hosts aren't communicating in the same language, which is
the general trend for web-based businesses. You have to be using the
same platform as the person you're trying to talk to (cf Facebook,
Whatsapp, Skype, Viber etc). It's bad economics if people don't need
*your* engine to decrypt the message being sent.
