Stern, by Bruce Jay Friedman

The Locke review of GR included this book in the pantheon of dark comic
novels of the 50s and early 60s, but omits Friedman's name from the greats
of the day.

Has anyone read Stern or any other of Friedman's books? He's written 7
other books. A one-hit wonder, flash-in-the-pan?
