Scariest movie scene ever was the night terror sequence from Human Universals (1977) when the Francis-Baconesque dog wanders around Yoel's living room as he's passed out on the couch. Perfectly captured the locked in feeling of sleep paralysis & that awful sense-blur that animal concepts are in the back of the brain.
From IMDB:
Human Universals (1977) Malpractice agent & physician Yoel Schmoolvitz collects policies on disfigured patients, a number of which are extended family seeking revenge. Rated R for drug use and intense sexual violence.

But there’s a movie that just stands out from the rest, and by far. It is a Russian movie called Cargo 200 which refers to the zinc coffins in which dead Soviet soldiers were shipped home from Afghanistan.
