Trump has no need for Putin and is controlled by his own ego; he is the puppet of the shortest attention span in human history. He clearly aspires to Putin-style strong man authoritarianism and rule by corrupt oiligarchs but it is the republican party who has the most power by far right now and they are scary enough, it is from their rightward wing that Trump is building his team and from their deep state centrists that the outer limits of what is permissable will be decided.    
  I do not see Pence as a better alternative, he’s a nazi war nut.
