I've just been reading the Pynchon foreword and Erich Fromm afterword to 
1984 which someone sent me many years ago. As far as I can tell the note 
is signed Dave M so if someone has a sample of his scrawl could they 
send it to me. If it isn't scrawl I've got the wrong Dave M.

The Fromm afterword has much in it of pertinence to the current situation.
