Why has Trump decided to kick off his Presidency in this way? Why is
Trump doing all these awful, racist things?

I thought for a second, and suddenly realised... it's because he’s got
nothing else.

He came in on a twin campaign of economic populism and racist,
nationalist demagoguery, on the one hand promising to “drain the
swamp” of the corruption that he claims is the root of all America’s
economic problems, and on the other, enacting a raft of illiberal,
racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic legislation designed to roll back
decades of civil rights advances.

Thanks to his cabinet picks, it is now painfully obvious to all but
the most excruciatingly deluded Redcap cultists that Trump never had
any intention of following through with the former promise.

So all that vile, "feel bad", spite-fueled, "tell it like it is",
reality-denying, hate-spewing, "alt.right", anti-science, "politically
incorrect" garbage that he spewed -- which, in any case, probably
netted him MORE voters than his economic message did -- is literally
ALL HE’S GOT GOING ON.

It's not a pleasant thought, but America's fate, and perhaps that of
the world, rests with the few honorable, decent Republicans still left
in the GOP after the Tea Party purges of the last 8 years.

I'm an atheist, and I've been praying every night this week. I suggest
y'all do the same.
