While Merle is redeeming light from precious metals Lew is redeemed with
heightened powers of observation and Webb is redeemed by an inability to be
sgunned down in a bar and a subsequent heightened vision of his best
targets, due to the persuasions of a pragmatik preacher.

Webbie alights from the Traverses of south Penn near the mAd line, and you
might say that, being irreconcilable with the slaval feuds of the times,
the tempos of human ownership, blasting each other with willow o whispers
war, which the good Moss likens to those Webb later encounters in the quest
for Rocky silverdom, they traverse the alchemical webs of the Midwest which
Merle himself is caught in and land in a state that is shaped like a
reservation.  Webb finds himself seeking more, feeling more, out further
west, but gets contained deep in the mines, blasting for the companies who
enslave him.

He has three kids one of whom, showing all signs of being the offspring who
really takes the family anarchy to the next level because he equates the
effect of blasting humans with dynamite to that of clowns in grab-ass
forward scooting mayhem at a carnival comically inconvenienced, but who
turns out to be something of a wiz at electrical engineering.  Kit's moment
of miracle redemption arrives in a dreamlike state where a voice tells him
about water and gravity and he sees electricity jump across the aether, and
not too long after that he is sent East to become one of Tesla's electrikal
boyz, who is the Franklin of one book and a century up.

Which crushes his poor old man, who doesn't speak good yet who has an
electrickly gifted kid who sells out to the very entities Webb's labored to
annihilate.

With his Finn cohort, who sees in his targets everything Czarist, Webb
blows up something important on the Fourth of July, which then reverberates
to the final Fourth of the millennium when blind children go licking
telegraph poles and seeing higher frequencies..

Vibe's mercenary is his miracle, in that the mercenary's miracle is
precognition stemming from a bullet to the brain.  Everyone seems to have
miracles working for them, except for the magician himself.  So you have
Lew sent after Webb who got the anti-stone from Merle who was friends with
the professor who advises Vibe on things electrical.
