You know what I think would be excellent, if instead of asking about the
meaning of certain words, you asked about the why of certain words.
"Why did the Author choose this word?" Who cares what it means. I just
want to know why it's there.
Also, not to distract anything from the chemist's tremendous post here
below, or I guess it will appear above me, but I have a suggestion, or a
request. Could you allcaps and bold the word that you want the meaning of
(try why of instead!)? The Rainbow is obnoxious enough reading when we are
not searching for specific words (for surely that is what we all do, we
jump to the bottom of your posts first, get the word you have in quotes,
then go up and scan your quoted text for that word as fast as we can.)
On that note, you could also massively shorten the quoted text. We
proported(?) literary types might like to holler about the imperative
importance of context, but really? Just give us the desired word, in
allcaps and bold, and the first word on either side of it, and that's it.
I guarantee you'll be fine...
