If I'd known you were about to hop off the train at Essex I'd have gotten
your number. I was early into infinite jest, you looked to be midway
through gravity's rainbow. We disagreed about whether DFW was postmodern.
For what it's worth, I don't actually know what the word means, but I don't
think anybody else does either. I just associate it with the ironic
detachment stuff that I sense DFW hated, so I still think I'm right.

Anyway, I'd like to argue more about books.
