There should be a word to describe the phenomenon of once greatly
acclaimed male actors doing slabs of weird-ass SF when they hit a
certain age - think Connery in Zardoz, Kirk Douglas in Holocaust 2000,
Orson Welles in the Transformers movie, Marlon Brando in The Island of
Dr Moreau, Burt Lancaster AND Michael York in another Island of Dr
Moreau. Whatever the phase is called, Malcolm McDowell has been living
in it for most of his adult career (as did Donald Pleasance for most
of his).
