I think this is a real thing. As I've said before, I live in the Deep Dark South. Attitudes don't suddenly change, or even slowly change, it seems. They're just coated with a veneer of PC. I think the black community is being eroded, to put it mildly.

My grandfather basically owned a slave. We didn't call it that, and it wouldn't have legally been called that, but that's more or less what it was. That shit isn't that far away from us.

My kids are half black. When one of them was about 7 or 8, he told me, "Dad, it's better to be white because you have more opportunities."

A few years ago, I was complaining about something to a black woman I knew. She said, "oh, you'll be alright, you're a white man."
