Whether Zuckerberg is some shade of racist is hard to know from this
distance, but I have zero doubt that privilege and bias are baked into
tech in ways that even its makers often won't realise. One of the most
popular apps at the moment is FaceApp, which alters your image to look
old or young or of the opposite sex etc. They had to remove the filter
that makes you look "hot" after users realised that the hotness
algorithm made you look more white and more European. (The app was
made in Russia I think).
