In a decade often characterised by egotistical excess and self indulgence,
it says everything about as talented and sophisticated a musician Walter
Becker that he was prepared to repeatedly cede the limelight to a revolving
door of soloists whenever he felt they were a better fit for the recording
in hand, even though his own playing more than measured up to his
illustrious guest stars.
