NP- Notes on a Foreign Country

Can I recommend this book by Suzy Hansen subtitled An American Abroad in 
a Post American World. A description of what happens when an innocent 
white American woman discovers James Baldwin's writings and moves to 
Turkey, initially on a writing fellowship, but ten years later is still 
living there. There's a taster in the Guardian

which introduced me to her. Now half way through the book and short of 
sleep as a result I encourage every one of you to read it. Worthy of 
informed discussion in this group, I think, and relevant to our general 
considerations.
