I talked to somebody a while ago that ensured me that everything trump does and says - tweets included - is some kind of hyper-intelligent strategy. She actually used the word chess - which is why your post made me think of her. She told me that all of his insane behavior is an act that makes it impossible for his enemies to pin down his true intentions, and that this genius diplomatic style is "what makes him such a great president.” This was a woman, who is not white, with a trump sticker on her car. She is, as far as I can tell, not a driveling idiot, and she said these things out loud to me. So, Adams might not have too tough of a sell.

I suppose, for his supporters, it’s the best way to interpret/explain the insanity.
