NP but Joseph Heller's Good as Gold

I checked what I could and find nothing really fits in that context if they’re in the US.  Hopper here is a grain bin - but it is a container of sorts - very large and metal.  Or it’s a funnel kind of thing used in food preparation  The other thing is it’s a Sri Lankan dish similar to a crepe but usually based on eggs.  

Given what you sent it could be a nonsense word chosen to match the rhyme and meter of the other lines and still fit if you’re not reading closely.
