That's actually when I first started admiring his work, with the eXile
(which he now feels ashamed of, for some reason... blatant sexism and
drug bragging, I think).

Actually, that's not true! I first became a fan of Matt Taibbi's just
a couple years after he founded the eXile, when he created a free
Buffalo NY bi-weekly tabloid called The Buffalo BEAST! And THAT was an
AWESOME rag, if ever there was one!

Living in Toronto, I'd catch stray copies here and there, and was
always sure to pick up the latest whenever I drove a friend to the
Buffalo airport or something. It combined acid attack journalism with
some of the funniest satire since the early days of National Lampoon
and the much-vaunted middle period of SPY!

Damn... I wish someone would put together an archive/compilation of
Buffalo BEAST issues. I'd buy that one no questions asked.
