A witty little poem I send in the wake of the Range of Desires M & D
quote in order to ask why do we think TRP presents female desire as he
does in M & D? We know the use the Girls want to put it to,
but........is V as Venus, from the White Goddess tradition at play
too?.....and is this P's 'feminism' at work (or rather play)?
Or, as a cultural history piece I just read sez: Women's desire as
reckless and overwhelming was a stereotypical belief on the 17th and
18th Centuries (in the West)
Female desire is paramount in the witty and contemporary, the map is
the territory in this case, “Radiocarbon Dating” by Anja Konig: “It’s
no longer done,/ comparing a woman’s body to a landscape,” she writes.
“But I want you/ in charge of manning up an expedition to undefined/
white spaces on my map.”
