Remember that post reminding of the bread and its meanings in M & D which
Joseph posted? With some responses.

Well, yesterday I read an essay about James Joyce. In which in* Stephen
Hero-*-or in the
notebooks JJ kept about it---now (1971) at the Cornell Library, the writer
sez!--Joyce
writes about his attempt to link daily bread with the Mass and its
meanings....as he said, he wanted
a quotidian usurpation of the religious meaning baked into his
novel......[my paraphrase including the
lame use of baked].
