Years ago a friend gave me a book on a similar concept - on the
capacity of pleasure in animals and the implications thereof. I never
read it but it's still there on the shelf.
"Pleasurable Kingdom: Animals and the Nature of Feeling Good." The
cover has two pigs nuzzling up looking reaaaal cheery.
