M&D notes problem

I don't really expect it to make much difference but I will at least change
the font to a Gmail-native font. Maybe that will help?

Or if there's some more certain way of sending clean emails, even if it
involves setting up some particular email client or something, I'm happy to
adopt a new system for the sake of this.
